This is why I fail at blogging. I get busy and forget to write it down! I just got back from the bar though and i'm still buzzed from my redbulls so i'll write something now!!
First of all, about tonight: I met up with my friend Sarah who I haven't seen in YEARS and we went to Radiopark. Let me just sum up Radiopark in one word: EPICWIN (yeah that counts as one word). Honestly though, the music is amazing, the atmosphere is awesome, there were tons of people there & everyone was having a good time. The only downsides are that the bathrooms are tiny (one stall didn't even have a door) and there's only one bar and it's right by the door. The area around the bar gets very crowded and it's annoying to walk through. Once you get to the dance floor though, you forget all of that. The DJs are on a stage that people can dance on which gives it a really fun atmosphere.
The music they played was somewhat of a 90s house fusion. It's hard to explain but it was jizz-in-my-pants amazing. They were playing 90s cartoons & the muppets on TVs and there were diner-style booths off to one side for chilling out in.
Some memorable moments include the insane number of guidos and hipsters that are there (they're easy to ignore) and the two girls who decided it would be a good idea to jump up on the stage and pull there pants down to their ankles and dance in their G-strings. It SOUNDS hot but honestly....the one girl looked like someone had accidentally ironed her ass and it was flat and sagging and SO nasty. *gag*
After that I dropped of Neila & Sarah and drove back home, taking care to keep under the speed limit because cops tend to be out a LOT on Saturdays. They were.
Yesterday I went to classes, came home and played MW2. For like 8 hours. And i'm level 49 now. Woo! 70 & AK-47 HERE I COME! w00t w00t!
Shea finally got his Xbox back. That makes me so insanely happy ahaha. I finally get to kick his ass :D
Also as I type this I realized i've eaten absolutely nothing all day and i've just put redbull & liquor in my tummy. I'm fucking starving. I'm going to go eat something now...

It's almost the weekend!
I know I just had a whole week off but I can't WAIT for the weekend! So in need of sleep catch up time. And maybe a head start on the research paper that we FINALLY got assigned!
The assignment is simple: Research a type of paper or a paper manufacturer, write a report on it and create a presentation to show the class. I'm planning to set up a meeting with a paper manufacturer or distributor in Calgary and get some non-online research for once.
Tonight, I think i'm going to wash my car, go to the gym, finish putting my laundry away & type up some research questions to ask whomever I end up talking to. I know, i'm so exciting. Also I may copy some notes from my notebook into my binder and get that all up to date so I have all my notes in one spot. That was my downfall last semester. My notes were all over the place so when I went to study, it was chaos.
I think that's all. I might fit dinner in there somewhere. And i'll definitely end up watching the third season of "Secret Diaries of a Call Girl" which I can't stop watching. It's so addicting. It's like the heroin of TV shows.
Hoping to go out sometime this weekend with Gabe & his camera & take some sweet pics. Would be nice before all the snow melts =D

Happy Tuesday
Today was pretty uneventful as well. Woke up later than desired again. Drove to school and ended up being about 40 minutes early. Which would have been sweet except some guy stopped me in the parking lot to ask for directions. I was trying to help him but he didn't speak English well and asked me to put the address of the place he was going into his GPS and then asked me to call the place he was trying to go. Finally, when he asked me to get into his car because I looked cold, I pretty much RAN to school.
Shea, Gabe & I brought some joy to a teacher we used to have last semester. Apparantly she had some very sweet things to say about us to our first class' teacher. Also, there may or may not have been tears involved. The smallest acts of kindness go a long way it seems!
I'm so tired right now because my sleep schedule is all throw off. Once I get back into my waking up early mode I should be okay.
Today I tried to Photoshop a picture of a plus size model to make her look skinnier. That part worked out okay for a first try. Then I tried to Photoshop Megan Fox's face on top of hers and the two skin colors clashed horribly. Even after an hour of blending & blurring & healing brushing, the face was a disaster. Next time i'll just do what everyone else said to do and photoshop Megan Fox's whole head onto the body.
What a boring blog. Oh well, maybe i'll do another one later when I'm not about to fall asleep haha.

Post-Reading Week Blog
Today was very anti-climactic for the first day back from reading week. I had every intention of waking up on time today (well yesterday technically...Monday...) and I set the time on my alarm to 6:30 because I was sleeping over in Calgary so I was already closer to school. ONE PROBLEM: I forgot to turn the alarm ON! Ugh. So I ended up waking up at 7:22 and decided that my morning class was a write off.
I got to school in time for my second period class (Press & Bindery) and Gabe & I rocked the projects and ended up finishing an hour early. We were finished a 50 page "perfect bound" booklet, including a cover with a spine, a 24 page saddle stitched booklet and cut 100 bookmarks, gold foiled them, trimmed them and round corner cut them. ALL of this was completed before anyone else was even finished their first/second booklets. And we got A+ for all our stuff =)
After Press, Gabe and I rescued Shea from Pre-Press class. I shouldn't say rescued. Pre Press is an AWESOME class. Brenda is a wicked teacher. Kinda like Tyler. I've never heard teachers speak to us like we're on the same level as they are before. Still used to being tormented in the crypt.
Web design class was uneventful and I finished the homework in class with about 30 minutes to spare.
After school, I immediately went home & cleaned my room. And I mean cleaned. I swept & washed the floor, dusted my TV stand, shelves, tops of my dressers & desk and finished my laundry. All I have to do tomorrow is put the rest of my clothes away, change the sheets on my bed (if I don't change them AT LEAST once a week I go nuts. It's an OCD thing). I'll take care of it after school tomorrow.
I went out for Cole's birthday tonight. He turned 21. Lucky bastard is going to Vegas this weekend. Anyway we had a drink at Limericks (which was much farther from my house than I was expecting) then went back to Cole's house for a bit before we decided it was bed time for all of us. Tamest birthday party ever hahaha. I was home by 1am, completely sober but tired as hell.
Hopefully fate or karma or whatever can infuse some excitement into my day tomorrow. Just no car accidents please! (And no flat tires HAH!)

Branding & Identity
Deciding that today would be the day, I created my page on Facebook for my "company" Fidelity Design. And everyone knows that once it's on Facebook, it's legit. I was partially inspired by the fact that I have no money and also by boredom. I honestly can't wait until Monday when I can go back to school.
HOWEVER. This week off has allowed me to think a lot about my future relating to my career choice. Do I want to be a starving artist for the rest of my life? No. Could I put more work into my projects and really make them stand out? Yes. Could I maybe come out of college with the beginnings of a portfolio? Hopefully! So if you don't mind, become a fan of my page on Facebook & follow my new Twitter account
Next up: Launching my own website so I can showcase my work in a more professional atmosphere as opposed to a blog or a Facebook album (the thought of the jpeg compression makes me cringe).

First Real Client: Web Design
I have the beginnings of the website I'm working on for my first real "client". I have a feeling there isn't going to be any work after this initial set up but it's still good practice and it's something to do while I have no homework. Keep in mind, I don't have the logo, images, descriptions, text or any real content other than the name and the slogan so that's why it looks so bare. I might throw some stock images on the page to make it look better when I present it to her but until then...
The colors aren't concrete and neither is the layout 100% but the basics are there and that's all that matters :D Hooray! Hopefully i'll get some images or something to work with soon so I can get this all finished up =)

Dear School: I Miss You
Oh how I hate not having anything to do during the day. I had a shower like an hour ago and after my shower I just got back into bed & started messing with my blog settings & Facebooking. It's sooo useless. I could work on a website i've been asked to do for a friend but she hasn't given me much to work with. I know, no excuse. That's what filler text and placeholder images are for. Yeah. I'll get on it right away then!
This morning my mom woke me up at 10 to bring her to her Cardiologist appointment. I sat in the car while she drove all the way to the N.E. of Calgary, waited in the car for 45 minutes (I hadn't brushed my hair or put makeup on or anything and I was still in my PJs...I wasn't going into public!) and then my mom decided she wanted to go to CostCo again. DEAR LORD. Thank goodness it was super packed and there was nowhere to park! I would have spent another three hours in there! We went to SuperStore instead and mom made me walk around which was super uncomfortable =\ Next time i'll be sure to change clothes before we go ANYWHERE.
She made up for it by taking me to Tim Hortons & I got a coffee & a sandwich! Delish. Tim Hortons is the best.
She now requires me to go pick up a prescription for her from the drug store. I'm definitely buying myself a Redbull & staying up all night playing MW2 [sorry Shea :(]. Oh and I still have to go to Lacey's house & feed her fish & take care of her mouse. SOMEHOW her mouse's cage locker thingy...the thing that keeps it closed, had fallen off last time and was inside the cage but it's attached to the outside. That tricky Felix!! He didn't get out though, thank GOD.
I think that's enough rambling for today.

The Hunt is On!
I realllllllly really really really REALLY need a job. Like it's getting pretty bad. I hate not being able to go out for lunch whenever I want and buy stuff with my own money and not have to worry about paying my parents back.
I applied for a couple of jobs today and I absolutely hate the job market right now. It used to be sooo easy. Like you could walk into where you wanted to work, lay down a resume and start an hour later. Now you actually have to go through the interview process and face rejection repeatedly. A friend of mine told me that she used to work at Hooters in Toronto and that it was really fun so I applied at the one in Calgary. It looks like a nice place although Hooters doesn't have the best rep.
I'm not in a position to be picky about jobs though and if I can work somewhere that I can make tips and have fun, why not. It's better than working at a strip club. Which I wouldn't be opposed to except my parents and my boyfriend would probably kill me. I mean I wouldn't be stripping but still...walking around in my underwear for a living may be easy but definitely not worth it.
I just got my hair done and I already want to get it done again. I wish I wouldn't have let that lady tell me what to do with my hair because now i'm not 100% happy with it haha. And it was a giant waste of $160 for something i'm not entirely happy with. Next time i'm not letting some bitch tell me what to do! hahah.

Holy Crap I'm Tired
I don't really feel like writing a blog right now but I will since it's been a couple days and I don't want to stop blogging like I always do, i'm going to write another one.
Today I woke up super late. Like noon. And I got out of bed at around 3 I think. Showered, did myself up a little bit & went to go see Lacey's sister & feed the pets & such. I was only there for about 15 minutes I think. Went home and changed to go to the gym. I went to the gym with the desire to stay for like an hour but all the treadmills were taken when I got there by 13 year old girls that kept changing their minds about which machine they wanted to be on. I ended up on a stupid squeeky machine which made me not want to run. So I didn't. But I got a 10x pass so I can go whenever I want now and not have to wait in line to pay for 10 minutes aha.
Anyway, after that I went and picked up Stephen and we went to WalMart and he bought Mass Effect 2 which is effin amazing, probably more so if you've played ME1 (which I haven't) but it was freakin' cool anyway. Then I played some BioShock because i'm determined to beat the first one before I buy the second one.
That pretty much sums up the day. As for a plan for tomorrow:
1. Wake up early-ish (like 10)
2. Go to the gym for as long as possible
3. Shower
4. Go into Calgary and job hunt like crazy
5. Laundry, clean my room, etc...
6. BIOSHOCK!

Happy Anti-Valentines Day
I SERIOUSLY need to go to the gym tomorrow. Not today because I have too much going on but the number of calories i've consumed in the last two days is absolutely sick hahahah. I had 75% of a little caesars pizza for dinner last night then shared a half a bag of Hershey Almond Kisses with my family (i'm eating the other half for breakfast) and I also had a little can of Pringles and Coca Cola. Delish. For every 9 kisses, it's 210 calories. There are at least 25 little wrappers on my nightstand hahahaha. Fail.
So tomorrow shall be gym day. Tonight i'm going out for that Anti-Valentines Day pizza dealio. Another super fat-ass day before I go kick my own ass at the gym tomorrow. I hate that I ate so much junk because I normally don't even like chocolate but last night I had a pity party. At least in 9 kisses, theres also 4 grams of protein so it wasn't a total waste!
I'm supposed to go to CostCo with my mom in a little bit. I can already see myself spending hours and hours in there while she wanders around with no actual idea of what she wants, she just wants to "look". You don't go to CostCo just to look. I better get some kinda bonus outta this trip.
BEST PART OF MY WEEKEND SO FAR: My yearly Valentines Day card from my dad. He's bought me and my sister Valentines Day cards every single year without fail. They're always so sweet & thoughtful and it makes me grateful for the dad I have. Love you Dad!! <3

What a Day
I ended up taking the dogs for a walk even though it was minus 11 outside. WAYY too cold for any normal human being.
After I got home I had a shower and was planning on going out tonight sooo I blow dried my hair (which I never do on Saturday unless I know i'm going out) and straightened it and back combed it and did my makeup (but not my eyes cus it's more fun to do eye makeup while you're drinking...don't ask me why...ie: I was supposed to go to Neila's house & get ready & pre drink so I just put foundation on and stuff but STILL...
After all of that (I think it took me like 2 hours cus I wasn't rushing or anything) I ended up not going out. Hahahaha. It's totally fine cus I have no money but still....waste of makeup! lol.
Tomorrow i'm having an anti-valentines day with Alyssa, Neila & Cole. Possibly Stephen but i'm not sure yet. It's going to consist of wearing 100% black clothing, eating heart shaped pizza from BPs (we're going to ask that they cut it in half jaggedly through the middle), drink lots and watch movies that have nothing to do with romance at all. Ie. horror movies with no plot line & action movies with no romance. It's going to be super fun.
Then after all that V-Day hatred, i'm having a skype date with Shawn <3 He's on a snowboarding trip. I miss him terribly.
My plan for the rest of tonight is to go feed Lacey's fish and check on the rest of the pets, come back home & drink & play MW2 until I get tired enough to fall asleep! Yeahhh sounds like a blast! w00t!

After I got home I had a shower and was planning on going out tonight sooo I blow dried my hair (which I never do on Saturday unless I know i'm going out) and straightened it and back combed it and did my makeup (but not my eyes cus it's more fun to do eye makeup while you're drinking...don't ask me why...ie: I was supposed to go to Neila's house & get ready & pre drink so I just put foundation on and stuff but STILL...
After all of that (I think it took me like 2 hours cus I wasn't rushing or anything) I ended up not going out. Hahahaha. It's totally fine cus I have no money but still....waste of makeup! lol.
Tomorrow i'm having an anti-valentines day with Alyssa, Neila & Cole. Possibly Stephen but i'm not sure yet. It's going to consist of wearing 100% black clothing, eating heart shaped pizza from BPs (we're going to ask that they cut it in half jaggedly through the middle), drink lots and watch movies that have nothing to do with romance at all. Ie. horror movies with no plot line & action movies with no romance. It's going to be super fun.
Then after all that V-Day hatred, i'm having a skype date with Shawn <3 He's on a snowboarding trip. I miss him terribly.
My plan for the rest of tonight is to go feed Lacey's fish and check on the rest of the pets, come back home & drink & play MW2 until I get tired enough to fall asleep! Yeahhh sounds like a blast! w00t!

I should do something about my absentmindedness...
So it's Saturday and I was soooo happy last night cus I was thinking I was going to get to sleep in. What I hadn't realized was that my alarm was still set for my school wake-up time of 7:30 on Fridays. What a lovely way to start the weekend...
The plan for the day is to take the dogs for a walk so Mikey doesn't pee on my moms bed again (lol). Then I definitely have to go to the gym again because I haven't gone for like a week and I don't like that. I mean, I don't feel any worse, and actually I feel better, but still there's no harm in going for a nice hour long run when you're about to consume over 9000 lbs of chocolate the next day. Okay I'm not actually but I am going for heart shaped pizza with Alyssa tomorrow.
As for later tonight, i'll most likely put a bunch of laundry in and get it all out of the way then make my way into Calgary to go out on the town with my darling Neila, Facebook daughter Alyssa & Stephen, the guy that moved and ditched us all haha.
I should probably go to the golf course soon and pick up my paycheck and pay my dad back so I can stop thinking about it. I wonder if anyone's going to be there tonight. If they are i'll pick it up tonight & get that out of the way. It's been in the back of my mind for like a month and it's stressing me out when it really doesn't have to.
I better go check on Lacey's pets too while I'm out doing stuff!

yay new blog!
So even though I never end up keeping up with a blog, I decided to try again. I don't know why. Anyway, i'll start with the basics I guess..
I'm Jaclyn. I'm 20. I have brown & blond hair at the moment (it changes a lot) & blue/grey/green eyes. I'm Belgian x French Canadian. I have a mom, a dad, a sister, an adorable dog & basically the hottest, sweetest boyfriend on the planet. (Hi baby, love you <3)
I'm a student working on a diploma in digital graphics communications ie. graphic design for web & print. I have no full time job right now although I wish I did.
I like South Park, Family Guy, The Simpsons...basically animated comedies...and True Blood. My favorite movie is Avatar with Fight Club in a close second although neither of these belong to my favorite genre, which is horror/zombie movies. I could watch zombies bite people and stupid teens get methodically slaughtered in a creepy trailer park all day. I'm quite morbid.
I also like to game. I don't mean Hello Kitty Island Adventure & Barbie Magic Makeover...I mean like Modern Warfare 2, Left4Dead, Silent Hill, Halo, GTA, Bioshock, WoW...basically FPS and RPG games. I don't like sports games unless they're on the Wii.
I'm not really sure what the purpose of this blog is supposed to be but I guess it will be day to day thoughts, most likely more geared toward graphic design since that's pretty much my entire life. It's my school life, it's my spare time, it's my DREAM. So there will be a lot of stuff related to design in here probably.
I'm house/pet sitting for my bff while she's in Cabo on vacation (lucky!) for a few days so I'll most likely be at her house with no one to talk to and nothing to do. So I'll most likely end up writing a couple blogs in the next couple days.
